More Than the Miles - Leadville 100

Nick Bare makes for an unlikely ultramarathoner. The former Army Ranger is a former body builder and still spends a great deal of time in the gym to maintain his physique, which is a bit more built up than what you typically see at the start line of a trail race. But the 31-year-old Texan caught the endurance sports bug a few years ago, initially using running to balance out his strength training. He very quickly went under three hours in the marathon, and knocked out an IRONMAN to boot. One of his pipe dreams, though, was to do the notorious Leadville 100 trail race. He entered the lottery twice before, to his surprise, getting into the race on his third try. It would be his first ultramarathon. Out of that incredible feat came a documentary called, ""More than the Miles,"" about Nick's experience at Leadville. But it’s even more so about the Leadville support team and how this iconic race is truly about more than the miles, as well as an honest look at what it takes for a rookie to take on one of the five most iconic trail races in the US.
