Maniac | World of Adventure

Nestled into the cliffs of the easternmost point in the United States, ‘Maniac’ is a 5.13d rated climbing route, established and ascended in the mid 80’s, and only repeated four times since. At the time of the route’s inception it was one of the only sport climbing routes in the country, and achieved a rating ranking it amongst the most difficult in the world. In years since, many routes have been established throughout the country, and the world, yet the list of climbers to successfully ascend this cliff just outside the sleepy town of Lubec, Maine is limited to a very few, including Alex Honnold and Hazel Findlay, some of the most well-known and accomplished athletes in the sport. Today, New England-based climbers Michael Larson and Jay Conway set out to add their names to that short list.
