The Fire That Saved Sun Valley

The backcountry of Southern Idaho is known not only for its recreational opportunities and natural beauty but also for the devastating wildfires that swept through its valleys in 2007 and 2013. In this action sports documentary, local mountain guide Joe St. Onge leads a team of professional athletes to explore the now charred landscape of the Smoky Mountains on skis. Their journey brings to light the destructive yet natural cycle of wildfires around Ketchum, and how a burned down yurt perhaps became St. Onge’s greatest gift.
