Since 2019 SBT GRVL presented by Wahoo has quickly grown into one of the most well-respected gravel cycling events in the country, with professional cyclists and first-time riders lining up together in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to complete one of four courses ranging from 40 to 140 miles. In 2023 the agricultural community pushed back; fed up with the inconvenience of thousands of cyclists on the roads and a perceived threat to their rural way of life, ranchers quickly organized and lobbied the local government to end the race. Event organizers responded with drastic changes for 2024 to reduce negative impacts on the rural community, but many rural residents felt the changes didn’t go far enough. With a 2025 permit application approaching and the event’s future on the line, proposed changes from the County Commissioners threaten the future of SBT GRVL and animosity escalates to a breaking point. Can SBT GRVL and the rural community find common ground? This is The Routt Forward.

Apayauq is a documentary following the story of a young Alaskan woman named Apayauq Reitan, who in 2022 became the first openly transgender musher to compete in the Iditarod, a grueling dog sled race that covers more than 1,000 miles through the Alaskan wilderness.

The film explores Apayauq’s journey as a transgender person in a state where discrimination and prejudice against LGBTQ+ individuals are still prevalent. It also showcases the strength, perseverance, and dedication it takes to compete in the Iditarod, a challenging race that tests both the musher and the dogs.

Throughout the film, viewers get a glimpse into Anna's life as a musher, the bond she shares with her sled dogs, and the obstacles she faces on and off the trail while highlighting the supportive community that rallies behind her and the impact of her story on others. Apayauq is a powerful film that sheds light on the struggles and triumphs of the LGBTQ+ community in Alaska and celebrates the courage of individuals who defy societal norms to pursue their dreams.

The 18th annual FLY FISHING FILM TOUR (F3T) is back on the road in January 2024 with a top-notch selection of short films that are sure to get you fired up for the season ahead! This year there will be films that take you into the science of the Costa Marlin Project, to the deep depths of the jungle for the massive Peacock Bass, and will have a Steelhead story with characters as rare as the fish itself plus, many, many more.

Jason Hardrath and partner Nathan Longhurst embarked on a journey to Mexico's tallest volcano, Pico De Orizaba. Both athletes are accomplished endurance runners and mountaineers with many Fastest Known Time (FKT) accomplishments. The goal is to establish the first international Infinity Loop, which happens to be on one of the Volcanic Seven Summits. It will entail moral dilemmas, character development, the importance of being a good partner in the mountains, and 40+ miles with 20,000 feet of elevation gain, including two summits of Pico De Orizaba at 18,491 feet above sea level.
