This fall, don’t miss Volkswagen presents Warren Miller’s Face of Winter, the 69th installment from Warren Miller Entertainment. Visit some of Warren’s favorite locations, from Engleberg to Chamonix, British Columbia to Alaska, Chile, Iceland, New Zealand, Washington and more. Watch world-class skiers like Jessie Diggins, along with the U.S. Nordic Ski Team as they train like champions, and catch big mountain athletes like Anna Segal, Dash Longe, Forrest Jillson, Amie Engerbretson, Seth Wescott, Jim Ryan, Marcus Caston and others as they carve down the faces of remote mountain ranges in pursuit of a life lived in high places.

Natural Selection Proving Grounds searches the globe for a location with terrain that can launch the sport of mountain bike freeriding to the next level. With the help of free-rider Carson Storch, they hone in on the South Island of New Zealand. Even after narrowing down 22 possible locations to three venues with limitless potential, choosing one is impossible. 

So, Proving Grounds and Storch call in five of the world’s best free-riders to decide which of the three locations’ terrain will best propel the future of freeriding, allow riders’ creativity to shine on the natural landscape and ultimately inspire more up-and-coming riders. Reed Boggs, Casey Brown, Robin Goomes, Brett Rheeder, and Carson Storch consider every aspect, from wind to terrain, sustainability of the build, and community access.

With three seemingly perfect locations, the riders weigh the more dynamic, natural terrain features in a venue above Queenstown against the long-term community benefits of a platform that the public could ride in the Wanaka area. See Sammy Carlson's adventure to the high mountain peaks of Alaska and British Columbia to push the boundaries of what is possible deep into the mountains. This backcountry terrain proved to be the perfect canvas for Sammy to push the limits of skiing. Joined by his friends Vinzenz Keller, Todd Ligare, Yu Sasaki, and Yoshiya “Bull” Urata, the crew spent the winter of 2022/23 in some of the world's most remote locations.

With many of the world’s best riders gathered in Revelstoke for the 2023 Natural Selection Tour and dream conditions, there were two otherworldly venues to choose from, but only one live event day. Still buzzing from the mind-blowing, and at moments, terrifying day of live competition at Boulder Park, the riders decide to leave no fresh landing untouched. Two days after Revy, Selkirk-Tangiers guided the riders back into the mountains to drop into a magnificent bowl known as Huckleberry. The cameras were rolling this time, and the riders fully sent it, but the world had no idea it was going down. Captured in super secret with never before seen footage, YETI Natural Selection “Revelstoke Super Session” captures the most prominent riders in the game, all together with optimal terrain for progression, on one auspicious bluebird day.

This project celebrates the influence they’ve had on the world of women’s cycling. Through their photos, we’ve gained respect, appreciation, and a more profound love of cycling. Through their lens, they inspire a new generation of women cyclists. These are the women in motion.

Chronicling the blue-collar story and rise of a cult sport to a global phenomenon that put the race-driven sport of mountain biking on the map in the world of action sports and the mainstream.

Outside Studios, in association with Freeride Entertainment, breaks boundaries in documentary filmmaking, taking a step beyond the talking head interview and deep into the mindset of its cast. Nothing’s for Free features the biggest names in mountain biking, from the early pioneers of adventure to modern-day internet superstars like Danny Macaskill and Brandon Semenuk.

Blackwaters encompasses the power of five Black men whose paths have been challenged with loss, defeat, fear, and pain by life’s ups and downs and the social injustice that Black men and Black boys face daily. They have fallen into an “endangered species,” only surviving daily. Through surviving life’s trials, each man has found grace and success in the outdoors, healed and mended by nature’s medicine to the soul, embracing the art of fly fishing and building brotherhood. Blackwater is an expedition, a journey in the Gates Of The Arctic Circle National Park, adventure, a vision quest, and a fly fishing adventure that surpasses the color of their skin, connecting to the fundamentals of nature, the poetry of life, and prosperous joy. Like indigenous communities, they find self-fulfillment in being outdoors. They find their representation and hold space for everyone, especially inspiring young Black boys. It is a dual survival between black boys who can not make the connection to a black man in the outdoors due to lack of representation and black men finding representation in wild spaces to call their own. Hopefully, these youths can see themselves and be inspired to embark on their journeys into the outdoors. The concept is a tactically crafted story in dialogue and adventure, emphasizing dismantling the fear of BIPOC and inspiring BIPOC to pursue their journey outdoors and uplift black boys’ lives in green spaces.
